2011 FUS Summer Youth Conference

Quigley Catholic's 4th annual pilgrimage to the Franciscan University Summer Youth Conference was an awesome success! This year's theme was Rooted - to be rooted in Christ. What a simple idea, yet so profound.

Embracing this theme means going deeper than just surface level Christianity. It means getting at the very heart of Christ and letting Christ become the Lord of our hearts. If we truly desire to be rooted in Christ, then our lives will never be the same. Wow! What an awesome God we have, and what a great weekend we had to go deeper in our relationship with Him.

And last but not least - good luck to those Quigley graduates who came with us for one last awesome experience before hitting the halls of higher education. God bless you guys and don't forget to keep in touch!

2011 March for Life

50 of Quigley's finest young men and women embarked on this annual pilgrimage to our nation's capitol on January 24th, 2011. They fearlessly braved the cold in order to give a voice to those who have been silenced by abortion. With joy in their hearts, these young people are continuing the fight for civil rights for all.

The trip began at QCHS at 2 o'clock in the morning!!! (After the Steelers victory!) The students were in D.C. in time to attend the Mass and rally held in the Capitol Center. Many students commented about how powerful it was to witness Cardinal Wuerl, along with many of his brother Bishops and priests, celebrate the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass together.

God is good, and He continues to do amazing things in the lives of these young people. May He be praised now and forever! And let us continue to work for all that is good, true and beautiful.

A special thanks to Mr. Palcsey for all the work and planning that made this event possible, as well as the parents who were willing to spend their day with us. You make this school an awesome Catholic high school! Thanks and God bless.
